We will cover 17 muscles that act upon the shoulder. You will learn how to find, distinguish and palpate each individual muscle, and understand its function. In Swedish massage, you don’t need to know how to locate and release individual muscles. This class goes into the anatomy of the shoulder and you get to actually find each muscle and assess its tone and condition. | |

I’ve been a regular client of Monica’s for approximately four years. Her ability to not only alleviate soreness or pain from pulled muscles, but also find problem areas I wasn’t even aware of, is an amazing talent. Because she has a very good understanding of anatomy and how the body works, anytime I have a question about what’s going on, she has a detailed explanation ready for me. Her knowledge also allows her to see and treat the body as a whole, and not as unrelated, isolated problem areas. Monica Mullen is a highly experienced Massage Therapist. She has extensive knowledge of the human body and is able to evaluate and offer advice when necessary. She has been treating both my wife and I for over 5 years and has been extremely helpful in diagnosing neck and back problems for both of us. Her massages are incredibly relaxing and therapeutic. Both my wife, Franca and I would highly recommend her – she is simply the best!
Monica has magic hands. She has the uncanny ability to find that pesky knot because she has a superb knowledge of the human body and is willing to share her knowledge with her patients. I have learned so much about my body since I have been seeing her. She has worked wonders on this “knotty” body. I would recommend Monica to anyone who wants the best.
After each session I noticed I was definitely more “in my body” than I had been at the start. My joints began to move a bit more easily than they had in years, and most surprising, even though the movements are not high impact, I was developing muscle strength.
I began to look forward to the sessions and the gentle coaching as Monica smoothly led us through the routine.
Several months ago when the pandemic had barely begun, I was invited to join a class with Monica Mullen. I thought it was going to be a typical exercise class and being bored and stuck in my house I decided to join in. Having known Monica for several years I knew it would be “good” but I never would have believed it could start my life on a new course.
First of all I found out it was not a regular exercise class at all, but a well-orchestrated series of movements that would activate my entire body and mind wellness switch. I didn’t notice a great deal at first as I was focusing on learning the movements, but after a few sessions I began to notice the subtlety of the positive changes occurring in my body. I am still amazed how such gentle movements can accomplish SO much.
Fast forward to the present time. I absolutely will not miss a session. The changes have been profound. I have balance issues and they have been greatly improved. My eyesight has improved. The flexibility in my body has drastically improved and I now have tools. Yes, tools that I can use daily and even hourly to restore my balance, mood, release tension, headaches, anxiety and restore peace to my mind and body.
I am blessed to have connected with Monica and her classes and get to enjoy her caring instruction along with others twice a week.

In the Start Your Day Well classes you will learn and experience some Qi Gong movements and Yoga movements (not postures) with breath that will:
